Wing NG – the next generation wing board
The trend towards high aspect foils has required a change in board design.
The speed at which foils become affective is drastically different when comparing low and high aspect foils.
HA foils will stall if you try to pop up onto the foil to early. Thus the design is focused around creating a board that planes early and has low drag.
A concave deck provides an assured feel under foot and improves rail to rail weight transfer resulting in a more responsive ride. Paired with a 2 or 3 strap set up with 5 hole adjustability allows you to tweak your stance.

CONSTRUCTION
We build boards tough. The Energy is based on a lightweight EPS core which we shape to your specific design in our bespoke 10ft CNC board cutter. The core is strengthened where needed with tough high density foam inserts. We hand laminate the board with two layers of Innegra and glass cloth. Innegra is a carbon/kevlar composite cloth which offers great strength but is not as brittle as pure carbon. We use a french epoxy which is vacuum bagged whilst curing to compress the laminates and draw off any excess. The dry weight of a standard 75litre board is 4.2kg including fittings.
FINISHES
We don’t paint boards as it doesn’t take the knocks. We use a black pigmented epoxy laminating resin and then a final colour of coloured epoxy which is hand sanded to final mirror finish. Blue/white is our standard colours or we can work with you to design a custom scheme to match your van or your superyacht! Final sanding will display the under-layer colour in a distressed sand-thru look This is a function of hand shaping and sanding and is a sure fire way to show it’s a custom board, not a moulded knock-out. Every board is unique.
